Dan began his career in fitness and self-defense back in New York and more recently taught at other gyms in the Miami area. His classes quickly became popular among students as they spread the word about their great results.
After relocating to South Beach in 1997 he began to teach his classes to the masses during the height of the South Beach tourism and migration craze.
In 2002 he opened Normandy Gym and has since developed many if not all of the TOP LINE group class instructors that you will find in the greater Miami area. Most of these trainers, some who are now established owners of Boxing gyms or successful personal trainers started with Danny at Normandy and never looked back in their own careers. He has motivated 10’s of thousands of Normandy Gym members over the years and his choreographed moves and classes have been copied throughout the world. The gym is currently a landmark in Normandy Isle, Miami Beach and is visited by people from all over the globe.
Danny Hawk and Normandy Gym are proud of the fact that we have led the field in Boxing For Fitness innovations over the last two decades. In fact our system and classes have quickly become world renown and replicated by others throughout the Hemisphere! Helping 10’s of 1000’s become stronger, healthier and more confident in their daily lives.
Much in the same way that Miami Ink took the world by storm and now there are thousands of copies, so goes Normandy Gym. Danny Hawk has been credited by many for the rise in Cardio Boxing popularity over the years and the proliferation of Heavy Bags and classes in Big Box gyms like Crunch Fitness, Equinox and LA Fitness. He has trained dozens of pro athletes, celebs and business people, and has been showcased on HBO, Showtime and ESPN. One of his more recent accomplishments in Pro Boxing includes Training Assistance to 5x World Champion Bernard Hopkins. Danny was actively involved in BHOP’s Training Camps for his wins over Kelly Pavlik and Roy Jones Jr.
Danny is a native of Brooklyn, N.Y with a Polish American heritage.
